I explore the traces and consequences of violence by combining photographs of bruised bodies with images of houses, plants, and children’s playgrounds.
In some photographs, I show shadows of hands on the skin, while in others, fingers press deeply into the body, making the effects of violence visible. The quiet images of empty places and nature express feelings of isolation, fear, shame, vulnerability, and helplessness. Through my photographs, I address painful experiences that often remain hidden and are difficult to put into words.
